Tonight's tale

TONIGHT'S TALE

Tonight, tonight I wonder,
With just the moon witnessing my solitude,
I stopped to look back and yes I've progressed;
But why the hole in the heart, I ponder;

Maybe loneliness is a windfall of being unique;

Tonight, tonight I wonder,
Where are the golden fruits that I bit,
With everyone around me seeing it,
Lauding me, hailing me, I'm failing to see what I hit;
Earned the honey, but can't feel the taste;
Holding the drink, but can't take a sip;

Maybe numbness is a windfall of being peculiar;

Tonight, tonight I wonder,
Tell me you gentle moon, I'm missing the same half as you;
Tell me you radiant sun, I'm missing the same company as you;
Why do they like you for missing your counterpart;

Maybe separation is a windfall for having a heart;

Tonight, tonight I ask,
The world is filled with tasks and people wearing masks,
How am I gonna find my half,
Do I lift the masks or befriend Him?;
He says He's perfecting the script to overt,
As you know, His words are indeed covert;
Yet, what other choice do I own?;
But the very thought that she'll also be waiting indeed comforts,
Only then I'll feel my crown;

Maybe contemplation is a windfall of being hasty.
