That New Path
THAT NEW PATH
Hear oh hear!!, victims of the stereotype,
Yes indeed, those demons were right;
They wanted you to step out of the flow,
So that you'll realize they actually wore halos;
You ignored the scream of the soul,
You ignored the voice from the sky and kept away from the glow;
You went behind your predecessor, thinking it'll be a hike,
Excited from the nerves to trust the guy on stage with a mic;
You were enthralled by the flow of the adrenaline spike,
It took away your faith,
Your devotion, hope and life,
Making you numb and pale;
I can feel you mate, hear oh hear!!,
Hear as I narrate; my tale.
In the age of excitement, I remained calm;
When all opted for the route, I snuck out toward the dirt,
I made sure I was without a company or qualm,
I kept walking no matter how much it hurt;
Without any regrets or guilt,
Commons laughed, ridiculed and of course they mocked;
They were obscured and oblivious to the rare,
Showing their contempt and lowliness from the heart,
Encouraging and cheering themselves in despair;
Scared to change and explore, afraid of the loneliness;
It shook and made them angry, seeing me grow and grow,
In something that they'll never even understand,
To be the instinctive flow;
I listened to the voice,
That spoke without words;
I saw that glow, motion and peace,
That emanates even when everything went to cease;
I got my energy from within, which
You can't ask for from a kith or kin,
For it can't be transferred to another;
Now that I wasn't behind any other,
It was up to me to prepare myself and rediscover.
It was tough, hard and challenging,
But trust me harder mate, this path?,
Makes you worthy to be lauded,
Takes you away from the stench of hate,
Makes you realize the illusion of fate;
It took time and pain to adapt,
It showed me the truth that none are really handicapped;
With no one to guide I had to trust myself,
As you see I'm still walking my mile,
Same as you, but with a bit more of a smile;
So trust the voice from within, that's who you really are;
That's the light that guides you far,
Away from the crowd, toward that distant star;
In all this what did I gain?,
I proved that someone can survive and live,
By breaking the numb stereotypical chain;
This is my tale, and you can always see me,
Walking my road, in my own way, as long as I'm sane.
